Exploring By the Seat of Your Pants took us on a trip to Antarctica to learn about penguins from Dr. Jean Pennycook!!!
We were able to ask Dr. Jean about our penguin wonders!!
One of our wonders was:
How big is a penguin brain?
Dr. Jean said, "sadly, they are not very smart, their brain is about the size of a walnut!"
We also wondered how long they could swim for.
Dr. Jean mentioned that they could swim for 2-3 days.
Are you wondering about the penguins that are lying down?
They are sitting on their eggs. The lonely penguin standing up, did not find a mate this year so has no need to sit on a nest.
Did you know that Antarctica only has rocks and ice?
